Anthony Samuel who was a TV actor on a kid show called What Now, who owns 3 companies and a father to 4 kids. Anthony Samuel was one of the presentation for the future aspirations. He 2 key things 1 was Phrase and 2 Key. His Phrase was To Minahal hoki which means you are awesome. It is a saying to people you see that would inspire and if you don’t believe here is the key to open the positive things. The past dose not determine your future. He told us a couple of stories on how was on the shows the picture shown were amazing.

Paula Fakalata who works with Attitude who helps people out there try hard on their dreams keep dreaming finding your passion.

Amelia Unfe a Auckland University student and who a dream who want to have her own fashion logo. I wish her good luck to achieve that.

Term 3 Reflection

Term 3 “is almost over”. We have made it to the last week of school “HARRAY”

This term we have done a lot of surprising things.

Like the New Zealand first woman manager of Samsung had visited us. We had to perform our school song called ‘Pōwhiri mai’. She was really impressed with the performance. Our year 6 ambassadors group presented her a presentation on how it like to be at our school striving to succeed. For an example from year 4’s to year 8’s we use netbook and chromebook devices instead of books. Two Junior class use ipads. They’re really lucky.

We had a lot of kiwi sport and AFL also this term. Some of our students entered music competitions. Some of us went to this amazing museum in the city that had and animations show from people from all over the world making really cool animations.

There were a lot of netball players and rugby players going to compete in competition. Our senior rugby boys have made it in the Eastern zone tournament. We had cross country which is a running event held every once a year at our school.

We had the Harold caravan come to our school for 2 whole weeks. We had been learning about the right things to put in our bodies. It was an alright experience.

Cross Country

All that cross country training is over YES!!

Cross country is a running event held once a year at Pt England school. From year one’s to year’ eight’s. The school principal Russell Burt says his Korero and the karakia to start the day and then hands it over to the  house captain to say their chants. There are also points for the loudest house. Te Arawa (RED),Tainui (BLUE, Matatua (GREEN) and Takitimu (YELLOW). At Assembly they announce the winning House and all students from the winning House gets a prize.

At the start of the race the runners racing have to stand behind the starting line. “READY SET” Mr Burt says and claps the clappers which means go. Thatss when the runners run.   

We all run in age order meaning 5 years old girls, 5 years old boys and on and on. The organiser Miss Vaafusuaga who organises the cross country. Mrs Flavelle, Mrs Sorenson and Mrs Slade are the sick bay teachers.

At the end of the day we are tired and relieved at the same time. Tired and exhausted from a hot running day. And relief cause it over

Film Festival

During the weekend our teacher Miss had come out with a good Idea  for the Manakalani film festival. The Idea was a couple of students will be seated on a couch watching TV. We will be actor all the channels that they are watching.  Part of the movie is showing that our whole class is all envouled.

Our teacher gave me my friends to do 20 second MTV, So we had made a pretty quick dance to the song bubblegum copying another crew choreography. It was quick moves we had rehearsal for over 2 hours. We were one of the first groups done and finished. We had to figure out what type of clothes we are wearing to film the movie we dersiced to wear swag clothes to a swag dance.

Prime Minister-John Key,

I am writing this letter to say that our country should ban plastic bags completely. Why?

As you should know over 30 countries have already banned plastic bags for good. This is because they have been damaging our land and sea-creatures. New Zealand supermarkets have sold over 1 billion plastics bags a year. I have a feeling that half of that amount of plastic bags have been littered.

I have watched on the news that sea creatures and birds have died because of plastic bags and plastic rubbish in the ocean. Sea creatures see plastic bags sinking down in the water thinking it is a jellyfish or some other sea creature and begin to eat it. It is real sad because they end up choking on it and they die.

I  sometimes drive by places with my Mum and see plastic bags flying across from place to place, on trees, seas, rivers, and roads. Please do something about this problem.

Writing an argument (should children exercise every day?)

Children should do exercise everyday because it is really important it can stop you from having Diabetes or cancer. Exercise is good for you cause it can help with your body health and you self control.

Here is a reason why exercising every day is good for you. Um It keeps you awake you won’t be a tired lazy child. It can help you to stay motivated you have a lot of energy be energetic. It helps you take your mind of things like boy trouble or girl trouble or problems. Exercising can achieve all your sports goals. All your goals it can prepare you of sports days, Athletics, Cross country. For and example: A boxer wants to become a pro boxer. So his goal is to be a champion boxer in the world or the galaxy and to do that he has to work out, Exercise it helps him and not only that is achieves his goal if he trying really hard for it.

Another reason doing exercise everyday is good because it gives you good and strong muscles. You be a good healthy athletic and you will be a good looking person like me (joke). Nah it can help by building your confidence it can help you from staying out of trouble lets be for real right now but it can help you defend yourself from bad people.

Exercise Is good for you and your health, Exercise makes your body healthy and fit. Being fit is just meaning, for you to look good fit in your nice clothes and maybe the clothes you are into.

Explain Why taking care of your mind and body is so important?

“The questions is explain why taking care of your mind and body is so important, Kacey who is a teacher at france school”Said Lueanna the news reporter.”Why umm taking care of our mind and body is so important because it is needed to protected our lives it is part of who we are. Our body our mind is part of who we are. Breaking our body parts can concerned great injures. It is important to be a health person if you want to grow old ” Kacey had replied. “Ok great answer kacey ok why do you think taking care of your body is so important, Joshua” Said Lueanna.

“Well I think Kacey is right um we also have to be thinking on what is the right things to take. I see a lot of  young teenagers  getting kicked out of homes because they have being taking drugs and alcohol. I am helping a 20 year old man who wants to change his life around. He was out of jail for selling drugs. He came up to me a said “Hey doctor um i’m having trouble in my life I like to change can you help me”.

He was a yougen health happy boy to a disappointing teenager to something who wants to change it life. He is still young well standing by me he is”(everyone began to laugh)”. But he is trying really hard. “Well Joshua your are well health doctor what is some good advice on stopping people from taking to wrong thing” Said Lueanna. “Umm I think it people who starts in colleges and high school is when things get stuff up.

I think it by picking the right friends, Supported friends and if someone is asking you to smoke this or take this. Your reply is no or if your type of person who can’t say no like me. Um make a ascues like o my brother here bye. “So you hear that guys this is 1 news and good bye good night.

Life Ed Expressions:

The life ed caravan has been in our school for 4 week now. Len who works in the life ed caravan had taught us the consequences of drugs and alcohol. Not putting Rubbish in our bodies Te nana. What are illegal drugs and the legal drugs in the country. We had watch a dvd of some teenager that made wrong decisions in there life and it all started with the same thing. In high school they said that they put a goal becoming a teacher a sport athletic. But when they got to high school people there treated them different it was hard for them to make new friends.

All of a sudden they made friends but the wrong friends they went parties smoking and all that, all because they wanted to fit in be the cool kids but they weren’t. A guy the name of james was a fast runner. He didn’t make any friends someone come up to him and said we having a party want to come.He went thinking it wouldn’t 1 beer it all good.He had died drinking Vodka a whole bottle of it he was being a clown and his friends thought let give him more beers because they thought the more beers more funnie he gets. His friends thought he was sleeping but when they check on him the next morning they found him dead.

So yeah, Lean was teaching us a lot of what to take what not to take what safe and what not. We all learn a lot thanks for that I am gonna stop thing before I do  things.

Jamaica location is an island country, located in the caribbean sea. Which has 6 cities in Jamaica, called Savanna La Mar, Four Paths, Montego Bay, Hayes, Rio Bueno and Kingston. There is 2.712 million people living in Jamaica the capital city of Jamaica is Kingston.

Jamaica is a home for some of the fastest men on the planet. For example, Usain Bolt is known as the fastest person that’s a fact. Jamaica is a country competing in the Commonwealth Games.

Jamaica’s flag has 3 colours green, yellow and black. There is a big yellow X shape on the flag.There are 2 black triangles on the sides and 2 green triangles on the top and bottom. The colours mean something. The colour black represents the strength and creativity of the people. Yellow is for the golden sunshine and green is for the lush vegetation of the island.

Jamaica has entered 3 sports in the commonwealth games. Sprinting, Netball and weight lifting. In jamaica they play a lot of Cricket, Rugby, netball and of cause do a lot of spriting.

Straw and Scissors

Experiment (procedure):

e.g. Step 1 - Get your Equipment

Step 2 - Cut the straw into triangles down below

Step 3 - Cut it between 2 or 3 cm

Step 4 - Blow into it

Step 5 - And found out what kind of sound it makes

Long:15cm            (When I blew into it is had a high kind of sound)

Shorter:10cm        ( When I blew into it this time is had a higher sound)

Shorter: 5cm         (I blew into it sound like a party whistle you get in goodie bags)

Observations:

Blowing into the straw that our class experience. It makes a type of sound like a party popper. The shorter I have cut the straw into triangles the higher the tone of sound it makes. It makes me laugh sometimes when I blew into it. Like Effect fail.

Conclusion:

It was a great thing we had try out. We learn a lot from that it is gives me great Ideas about sounds.

Immersion Assembly “Game On”

It was our first day of school term 3 2014. We walk into class and notices something odd in class. There's always something odd every term in our class. It was what our topic was about  there was pictures of sport athletes countries there was a sign above all of that that said Game on. Of cause that had something to do with our new topic.

We called the roll and went to the school hall for Immersion Assembly. A couple of teachers were wearing costumes. Mr Burt wasn’t there he was still in London. So Mr J took his place we saw Mr J video clip that he was taking when he went off to watch the bike race. He recorded this guy which he had to Jump on his bike and land back down which he succeed. Then this other guy was on a BMX bike he was a tall guy riding on a small BMX. He said that he was gonna do the jump but add a 360 in it. So he was riding riding did the jump did the 360 but the handle bars came off and he failed the land and the wheel came off the bike.

Team 1 video I thought was funny. There was different type of countries Entering to the Commonwealth games. Miss Gorge was pretending to be Queen Elizabeth. Teacher we laughing at thing I didn’t get.

It was time for team 2 video we got to watch they were acting other new zealanders athletes. It was amazing they were dressed in netball clothes.You can really tell that they use the green screen. Some of there parts in the video was funny. Plus we got our old teacher back at our school. There video was really similar to team 1. Instead of Miss Gorge acting as queen it was Miss Jarman.

It was time for team 3 they were acting this time. On stage about skaters performing with ribbons and hula hoop and a ball. It was cool why we were watching it the team 3 teachers were trying to doing all those tricks. That we were watching. But they did not succeed well some of them. It was really Hilarious.

It was team 4 video we watch it was the same as team 1 and 2. But Mr S was acting as the crowd instead up the queen. I’ve noticed that it was pretty much comedy video clips. Cheering, why the other teachers were warming up for the race but it was about who can make a picture or something made with Potato. 1 made a mountain another made a flower, mash potato.

It was time for teams 5 video clip and they were video clips of them in different countries. They went to Spain, New York, Samoa. And showing us what type of sport other countries play.
